“By saddling our children and grandchildren with this insurmountable debt, they are engaging in a form of generational tyranny -- taxation without representation for the yet-unborn. It is the most selfish act a generation can commit.”

Selfish… I have never used that word to describe excessive government spending, but Clarence is right. Government officials are more worried about cementing their name to a legacy program than they are about balancing the budget. Thanks for the new insight, Clarence!
