Last month, Donald Trump delivered on his promise to designate ANTIFA as a domestic terror group.
Just weeks later, it was reported that ANTIFA was involved in an attack against ICE agents in Portland, as well as a prior attack in Texas.
Charges have now been announced in the latter incident, marking the first time the Department of Justice (DOJ) under AG Pam Bondi has charged individuals affiliated with the group since the designation was made by Trump.
On Sept. 22, Trump issued the controversial order declaring ANTIFA as a domestic terror organization.
In part, the order stated, “Antifa is a militarist, anarchist enterprise that explicitly calls for the overthrow of the United States Government, law enforcement authorities, and our system of law. It uses illegal means to organize and execute a campaign of violence and terrorism nationwide to accomplish these goals.”
It continued, “This campaign involves coordinated efforts to obstruct enforcement of Federal laws through armed standoffs with law enforcement, organized riots, violent assaults on Immigration and Customs Enforcement and other law enforcement officers, and routine doxing of and other threats against political figures and activists.”

On Oct. 8, the White House released a statement that the mainstream media was ignoring reports about ANTIFA attacks in Portland, specifically against federal officers and property.
The report quoted residents in the area who were complaining about the violence. One individual stated, “It’s like a war zone. There are times I’ve had to have a gas mask on inside my own home. Deploying the National Guard is one thing I support, as far as Trump is concerned, because the city is failing us and I don’t want to feel like I’m collateral damage -- and my rights matter, too.”
Another stated, “115 days of hell. I only come out during the day. You see all the black-covered Antifa people aren’t here. They come with the night. In the daytime, it’s all these little old senior people that think they’re changing the world before they pass from this earth.”
The White House did not attribute the quotes directly, which brought some criticism, but I was able to track down the sources to either news reports or social media in which those residents and business owners were cited by name, so the quotes in the statement from the White House were indeed authentic.
While ANTIFA is very active in the Portland area, I can attest first-hand that the group has also been in the Texas area on numerous occasions, once directly in my neighborhood to support a drag event, serving as security for the business owner involved.
FBI Director Kash Patel announced that charges have been filed in connection with a July 4 incident at an ICE facility in Texas, explaining, "For the first time ever, the FBI has arrested anarchist violent extremists and charged these Antifa-aligned individuals with material support to terrorism.”
His statement continued, "This was a planned and coordinated terrorist attack on the Prairieland Detention Center in Alvarado, Texas, where armed extremists tried to murder U.S. officers on July 4th.”
This, to me, is very exciting, as I have been waiting for charges to be elevated against ANTIFA operatives, who have largely gone unchecked in Portland. And Trump is right about he media ignoring the organization and its tactics, as I know plenty of people who have bought into the media and Democrat narrative that ANTIFA does not even exist as an actual entity. Finally, we are going to get some justice against this “domestic terrorist” threat.
