Today's "thought" was on how capitalism is a way to keep society on the up and up, whereas socialism eventually results in people looking to gain prosperity through nefarious means. Our comment today is from Gregory L. of Georgia, who responded:
"Walter Williams was a national treasure because he explained complex truths in simple terms. He was right: capitalism is the only moral system because it is based on voluntary exchange -- you only succeed by serving others. Socialism is based on force and envy. Will it take hold here?"
"It is trying its hardest, fueled by a generation that has never been taught where prosperity actually comes from. But I have to believe that capitalism will prevail because it is the only system that aligns with reality. Eventually, you run out of other people's money, and the only thing left is to get back to work."
