“Milton Friedman was a genius. He knew that the system is what matters, not just the people in it. To answer your question, the ‘right thing’ is to keep the government funded and open."
“The ‘wrong thing’ is to hold the entire country hostage to force through partisan spending on unrelated projects. The ‘political climate’ we need is one where voters overwhelmingly punish any politician who tries to pull a stunt like that."
