A new wave of extremist Democrat candidates is catching fire around the country.
As we all sit and wait to see what will happen in New York City on Tuesday, there is another mayoral candidate in a large American city who is just as dangerous.
The candidate in question is Minneapolis mayoral hopeful Omar Fateh, who has already vowed to tip off illegals of any pending ICE raids if he wins the election.
If you are a regular reader, you know this is a very passionate issue for me; arguably, the most important of all.
To this point, the U.S. Supreme Court has been able to kick the can of sanctuary cities down the road, but Attorney General Pam Bondi filed several suits on this front very early in the current term, so I am hoping the court is forced to rule on the question.
Bondi has challenged sanctuary status in New York and in a host of other states and cities.
The most recent opportunity for the court to rule on the matter was dismissed, not on the merits of the case but rather on the standing of the litigants, so the justices managed to avoid issuing what, in my opinion, would be a landmark decision. Considering that every time it has had a chance, the court has ruled that immigration is a federal issue, I find it hard to believe that a sanctuary status will be upheld with six conservatives sitting on the bench.
Zohran Mamdani has made it clear that if he wins the mayoral election in New York City, he will fight Donald Trump every step of the way in terms of keeping the Big Apple's sanctuary status.
He stated, “What I would be doing is reminding New Yorkers of their rights, making it clear that this is not something that we stand for, being proud of our sanctuary city policies and utilizing the courts.”
Mamdani continued, “Because so many of the threats that Donald Trump makes are not law, even though he seems to believe that just by saying it, they become so.”
Trump, in response, stated that he would have a hard time sending federal money to New York knowing that it would just be wasted because of Mamdani’s socialist agenda. That issue will come to a head later tonight when a winner is announced in the election.
While Mamdani is getting all the headlines, Fateh has slid under the radar, mostly due to the nature of an open election in Minneapolis. A Democrat will win this race; it is just a matter of how dangerous that Democrat is.
Incumbent Mayor Jacob Frey is not polling well, and that has everyone concerned that yet another radical is about to take over another large American city.
While Minneapolis is already considered a sanctuary city, Fateh’s platform looks to limit local police power, oppose cooperation between local law enforcement and federal immigration authorities, and expand initiatives for immigrants. He also plans on alerting illegals when an ICE raid is about to take place, which will likely put him at odds with the Department of Justice and possibly lead to obstruction charges against him.
This man is just as dangerous as Mamdani, as this wave of socialists is hoping to take over our country one city at a time. We cannot sleep on these Democrat strongholds. And while I know we will never get a Republican embedded in those jurisdictions, we need to start identifying more moderate Democrats to push back against this rising trend in our country.
