Things got a little contentious between Donald Trump and Laura Ingraham during an interview that aired last night, particularly when the subject of H-1B visas came up. Trump claimed that we don’t have enough “talented Americans” to fill certain types of high-paying positions, and Ingraham pushed back that there has to be a better way, challenging whether his assertion can be part of a true America First plan.

Today’s thought was about the government getting too big to the point that people become so reliant on the government, they start to see their freedoms taken away. Our comment today is from Lawrence P. from Alabama, who responded:
“President Ford's words are a timeless warning, and we are watching it play out in real-time. The ‘socialist movement’ is incredibly dangerous because it's successful at one thing: marketing. They've repackaged ‘government control’ as ‘social justice’ and ‘dependency’ as ‘security.’"
“They aren't just chipping away at freedoms; they are convincing people to trade their freedoms voluntarily for empty promises. Ford was 100% right, and the fight against this is the fight of our generation.”
Great comment, Lawrence, and I agree with you. Every time members of Congress give the government an inch, it quickly turns into a foot, as we see our rights and freedoms trampled. We cannot give in to this movement if we want to keep the dream of our Founders alive and well in the United States of America.
