The amount of misinformation being spewed by Democrats over the government shutdown seems endless. Here is another example, with Sen. Patty Murphy (D-WA) claiming that this is all on Trump because he won’t negotiate. She seems to forget the fact that the president is powerless to do anything until Congress puts legislation on his desk. The Senate and House negotiate bills, not the White House…

Thought of the Day

There is one common underlying factor in excessive government spending, forever politicians, and every other government failure we have today, and that is We the People. James Madison once stated:

"The citizens of the United States are responsible for the greatest trust ever confided to a political society."

His point is that it is up to the private citizen to hold those elected to office accountable, but as a whole, we do not do that in this country. We see people like Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-KY) and Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) elected, then re-elected to office for decades without actually doing anything notable, while also contributing to all the problems we complain about in our government every day.

The only ones who can truly change the way our government operates is We the People, and we can only do that with our vote. We all need to stop voting for the “comfortable” choice and start to vote for the “right” choice. The success and failures of our government start and stop with the American citizen.
