I honestly have no idea what it will take for the dangerous rhetoric that is being tossed around in D.C. these days to stop.
After two assassination attempts on Donald Trump and the murder of Charlie Kirk, Democrats continue to spit venom.
Was that trend responsible for the latest assassination plot? Reports surfaced early this morning that a man was arrested by the FBI for allegedly offering $45,000 for someone to kill Attorney General Pam Bondi.
Several weeks ago, Bondi was on Capitol Hill to testify before Congress, and by the way Democrats treated her, you would have thought the devil himself was sitting in that chair.
Sen. Alex Padilla (D-CA) tore into Bondi after grandstanding weeks prior at a press conference held by DHS Secretary Kristi Noem.
As he went after Bondi, she cut him off and reminded the chamber of the aforementioned incident, stating, “I have answered that question multiple times, yet you didn’t have the courtesy to be sitting in here for the hearing. I’m not going to be answering it."
She continued, “I find it interesting that you want order … in this proceeding now. You sure didn’t have order when you stormed Secretary Noem at a press conference in California, did you?”
The amusing aspect of this is that after Democrats have called Trump and administration officials Nazis, the Gestapo, racists, xenophobic, and every other -ic or -ist word you can think of, House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) got upset when the same rhetoric was tossed in his direction.
House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) last week referred to Democrats as “legislative terrorists,” to which Jeffries took huge exception. Mind you, that adjective makes a significant difference in the context in which it was used, but Jeffries still went off.
He stated, “Well, that type of language is reckless, it's irresponsible, and it's going to get someone killed. What do these folks not understand as it relates to the language that they continue to use? We should be able to battle it out in the contest of ideas as opposed to trying to use these extreme terms that have been unleashed on the American people from the very beginning of this presidency, and, matter of fact, for a long period of time by the current President and those sycophants who continue to do nothing more than rubber stamp his extreme agenda and hurt the American people.”
I thought that was a pretty rich statement for someone who has never said a word about someone like Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-TX) repeatedly referring to Trump as a “wannabe Hitler,” not to mention failed vice presidential candidate and Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz saying that ICE agents are acting like Trump’s “Gestapo.”
This all leads us to yet another threat against a member of this administration, namely, Bondi. According to the report from this morning, a 29-year-old man, Tyler Maxon Avalos, was recently arrested after posting a hit offer on Bondi on TikTok for $45,000.
The post had a picture of the AG, featuring a sniper-scope dot on her head, with the caption: “Wanted: Pam Bondi, Reward: $45,000, Dead or Alive (Preferably Dead).”
Court filings further stated that his profile was linked to an “Anarchist FAQ book.” Avalos also reportedly has a rather extensive criminal history, including numerous violent crimes, such as rape and domestic assault.
I don’t excuse Republicans from this rhetoric war, but I have to ask, when does it stop? Both sides said they would tone it down after the Trump assassination attempts, but that did not even last 24 hours before the rhetoric started to fly again. What will it take before both sides start acting like adults? One person is already dead… what lesson do they need to learn before this idiocy ends?
