Donald Trump just announced another renovation project for his administration.
This time, however, I doubt it will cause the outrage that we saw after the White House ballroom addition was announced.
Trump is cleaning up the fountain outside the Lincoln Memorial, blaming the nasty buildup of dirt and algae on Joe Biden.
Trump announced that he was going to add a ballroom to the East Wing, and I thought it was a fantastic idea.
When he initially revealed his plan, it was just going to involve an addition to the East Wing, but he later decided to demolish the East Wing entirely because of design challenges that emerged.
Trump chose McCrery Architects to head the project, with its CEO, Jim Crery, stating, “Presidents in the modern era have faced challenges hosting major events at the White House because it has been untouched since President Harry Truman. I am honored that President Trump has entrusted me to help bring this beautiful and necessary renovation to The People’s House, while preserving the elegance of its classical design and historical importance.”
It was also announced that the project would be completely privately funded, with Trump even adding more than $20 million to the renovation coffers.
Democrats have lost their mind over the situation, with several of them suggesting that if a Democrat wins the White House in 2028, they would demolish the ballroom.
For instance, Rep. Steve Cohen (D-TN) stated, “I don't think it would be a bad idea to tear it down. It’s this gigantic blob there that’s Donald Trump.” This is TDS on steroids, and it gets much worse.
Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) has presented legislation to limit the donations, claiming that Trump has put the White House up for sale. She stated, "Billionaires and giant corporations with business in front of this administration are lining up to dump millions into Trump’s new ballroom -- and Trump is showing them where to sign on the dotted line.”
She continued, "Americans shouldn’t have to wonder whether President Trump is building a ballroom to facilitate a pay-to-play scheme for political favors. My new bill will put an end to what looks like bribery in plain sight."
Trump has a new project in his sights, but hopefully, this one will not be as controversial.
The president stated, “This is the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool before Secretary of the Interior Doug Burgum and I fix it. Study it hard because you won’t be seeing this Biden filth and incompetence much longer!”
National Parks also posted about it on its Facebook page, posting, “Just like straightening up the house before your holiday company arrives, we’re cleaning the Reflecting Pool.”
The post continued, “The Super Scrubber will be in action the next few days as our fearless Facilities Management crew gets the fallen leaves, trash, and stinky goose poop out of the pool. It will then take several days for the pool to refill. Please, DO NOT WALK in the Reflecting Pool.”
I cannot wait to see how Democrats find a way to complain about this. Maybe a green organization will say removing the algae is an issue or something… it really would not surprise me.
