One of the biggest scandals from Joe Biden's tenure in office was the opening of our borders.
The problem was not just that the administration's policy flooded the country with illegals, but also the way it jeopardized the welfare of children coming into this country.
Biden came under fire when a bombshell report hit the New York Times about how children were being lost by his administration. That problem is now worse, and it would appear that a major trafficking hub has been established in Charlotte, North Carolina.
The Times report blew up the previous administration when a whistleblower came forward to tell a horrifying tale about how migrant children were being put to work, as well as how the administration had lost track of tens of thousands of these children.
The report stated that a woman named Linda Brandmiller was working in San Antonio when she started to ask questions about the vetting of people who were claiming these children after they were processed by border authorities.
The report found: "As the administration scrambled to clear shelters that were strained beyond capacity, children were released with little support to sponsors who expected them to take on grueling, dangerous jobs."
It also revealed that the Biden administration had “lost track” of roughly one-third of all the children coming through the system who had been sent into the country with these alleged sponsors.
After the Trump administration took over, a report was produced by the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) office.
The report stated, “In the past four years, the United States saw a record surge in the number of unaccompanied alien children crossing its southern border. In many cases, these vulnerable children were released to sponsors in the United States without proper vetting -- some of the sponsors had paid smugglers to bring the children into the country or fraudulently claimed familial relationships."
It continued, “As a result, these children were subjected to physical abuse and sexual and labor exploitation.”
Again, Biden officials tried to spin the findings by claiming that they had not lost the children, but that they could not force people to check in once the children had been turned over to them. In other words, yes, they had lost them.
I can tell you from living in Texas, human trafficking is a huge issue, but it is not just Texas where this has become a problem. These people are moving all over the country, using sanctuary cities for protection against deportation.
One of those cities is Charlotte, where disturbing reports are now emerging that the area has become a major hub of human trafficking activity, including the sexual exploitation of children. Hannah Arrowood, executive director of Present Age Ministries, explained, "It really is kind of like a perfect storm. There are a lot of variables. One of the things that we have to know is that trafficking happens everywhere. It happens in every city and every town, whether you're rural [or in a] city -- it really doesn't matter. But for Charlotte, one thing is that we have a lot of factors that attract demand."
Toby Braun, founder of American Special Investigative Group, added, "Part of the reason why Charlotte is such a huge trafficking hub is because of the highway system. A lot of these traffickers are running victims and may start in South Florida. From South Florida, they go to Atlanta, and from Atlanta, they pass through Charlotte. Oftentimes there, they may put them in safe houses."
This is why you lock down your borders, and this is why we must continue to fight against sanctuary cities. Democrats defend their policies as a way to help migrants take their shot at the American dream, but what their policies really do is open the door to child exploitation and allow the very people doing that harm to remain protected from legal consequences. It’s why the U.S. Supreme Court must take on this issue ASAP and stop kicking the can down the road.
