We all know that Michelle Obama loves to dump on the country, but apparently, she went too far this week.
During a recent discussion in support of her latest book, the former first lady blasted the country for, as she put it, not being ready for a woman president.
Mrs. Obama further stated that the country has "a lot of growing up to do,” and people began to take exception to the assertion, and they were not all among the ones you might expect.
Michelle Obama does two things lately when she makes public appearances, namely, she dumps on Barack and she dumps on our country.
During a recent event in support of her new book, it was the country she decided to blast.
Obama stated, “As we saw in this past election, sadly, we ain’t ready. That’s why I’m like, don’t even look at me about running, because you all are lying. You’re not ready for a woman. You are not.”
She later added, “You know, we got a lot of growing up to do, and there’s still, sadly, a lot of men who do not feel like they can be led by a woman, and we saw it.”
Why is it that when a woman fails, it is deemed the fault of the system rather than of the individual? Democrats have run out two of the most unlikeable women in politics to try to win a national election, and they failed. It really is as simple as that.
Stephen A. Smith, an ESPN personality who has recently branched into politics during his broadcasts, made a point of disagreeing with Michelle Obama.
He stated, “Didn’t we just see an election take place last month where a woman won the gubernatorial seat in New Jersey -- Mikie Sherrill? Didn’t we just see Abigail Spanberger win in Virginia -- the gubernatorial seat? Isn’t Kathy Hochul the governor of New York? Am I missing something?”
Smigth continued, “How about 2024 when Kamala Harris was running as the Democratic nominee for the presidency of the United States of America? Yes, she did only have 107 days to do it. But whose fault was that? The Republicans, Black people, Hispanics, women, whomever. Nobody told y’all to hold on to Joe Biden for dear life until July of that summer, when there was evidence that showed months earlier that he wasn’t ready anymore.”
Speaker Emerita Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) also went against Michelle Obama's assessment of the country in a recent CNN appearance.
When Pelosi was asked about Obama's comments, she responded, "Well, I hope -- I mean, I respect her and I know that view is one that we all are saddened by, but we -- I think we have to change. The fact is that I‘ve heard every excuse in the book, you know, like, 'I‘m not sure a woman could be commander-in-chief.' Well, why not?"
Believe me, this country is ready for a woman president, but Americans are not going to elect just anyone to sit in the Oval Office.
This is a “first,” so voters want the person who is selected to be very good at what they do. If this person fails at the job, we all know what happens. I think we have some pretty brilliant women in the pipeline on the conservative side, and there are even a few moderate Democrats who could probably win, but the party will never support them, so I am not worried about that happening anytime soon. I think we will likely see the first woman president by the end of the 2040 election cycle.
Honestly, I think if Gov. Ron DeSantis had won the primary and the presidency in 2024, we would probably have a woman as president in 2032, because I was certain he was going to choose a woman to serve as his vice president. If JD Vance gets the nod in 2028 (or whoever else, for that matter), he would be very smart to pick a woman VP to either set her up for the 2036 election cycle or to come back in and take the White House back in 2032.
