Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-TX) exploded onto the congressional scene in recent months, and she has quickly become the darling of the left-wing media in this country, possibly even overtaking Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) in popularity.
However, there is a problem… she lies… a lot.
Even so, radio personality Charlamagne tha God seems to think that Crockett needs to be the voice of her party as we move forward.
If you are going to be the voice of the party, you need to be honest with the American people, and that is something of which Crockett is incapable.
Let’s go back to her comments on immigration, in which she insisted that crossing the border illegally is not a crime. She is wrong. Assuming no other circumstances, the first crossing is a misdemeanor, and subsequent crossings are felony violations.
After she made her comments, Donald Trump’s border czar, Tom Homan, let her have it.
He stated, "It's a crime to end the country legally under title 8, United States Code 1325, and it's really pathetic that any member of Congress doesn't understand what the law says. They broke the law… It is a criminal violation to enter the country illegally. If you've entered a prior, it's a felony. I've been saying this for I don't know how long… it's a crime to enter this country, and we're going to enforce those laws."
A party's primary spokesperson should also be someone who won't oversensationalize things and risk alienating voters with outlandish comments, but Crockett does that all the time.
I simply cannot imagine being Jewish and having a family member who suffered during the Holocaust, as either a survivor or victim, and hearing someone call the sitting president of the United States a “wannabe Hitler,” but that is what Crockett has done repeatedly.
When she was called out for it, she doubled down, stating, “I think that my responsibility is to be transparent and to be honest, and the reality is that we are living in a time in which this administration and this regime is not interested in making sure that people understand history.”
Crockett continued, “We need to understand why they are so problematic. And so I am using that language because it is accurate language. When we see the consolidation of power, when we see them trying to chill speech of jokesters, when we’re seeing all of this, that is the playbook out of Hitler. And I won’t deny it.”
Charlamagne was very interesting to follow throughout the 2024 presidential election because he gave a brutally honest take on the Democrat Party, but now he seems to have fallen for Crockett’s nonsense.
He stated, "Jasmine Crockett is actually what the Democrats should be leaning into.”
The host continued, "Because she is a phenomenal messenger. And some people just got it. Some people just have a different anointing on them. You don’t know why certain people cause folks to gravitate towards them."
If Crockett is the future of the Democrat Party, and she very well may be, this country is in a lot of trouble. She seems to spend more time on social media than she does legislating, having already admitted that passing laws is not her priority, but obstructing Donald Trump is. So, if all you want is political theater, and the actual facts don't matter to you, then I guess she may indeed be the right person.
