Today’s thought was on how Democrats have been villainizing National Guard troops as a “modern-day Gestapo,” yet now that a tragedy has occurred, Rep. Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) is acting like he cares. I called him out on X today and asked for comments from our readers on whether they thought it was Democrat rhetoric that led to the attack in D.C. Our comment today comes from Marcus L. from Oklahoma, who responded:
“You are absolutely right to call this out. When you have leaders like Jeffries constantly painting our National Guard -- our sons and daughters -- as "occupiers" or "stormtroopers" just to score political points against Trump, this is the inevitable result."
“Words have consequences. They dehumanized these soldiers for months, making them targets for any radical listening to their hateful rhetoric. They don't get to wash their hands of this tragedy just because they offer "thoughts and prayers" after the fact. The blood is on their hands, too.”
