I am sure Democrats are loving every second of a recent arrest report.
Early Thursday morning, it was reported that the mother of White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt’s nephew was arrested by ICE.
The White House was immediately put on the defensive over the situation.
When Donald Trump was running for office in 2024, he made it clear that if you entered this country illegally or remained here illegally, you were not going to be in this country for much longer.
The mass deportation agenda sent a shockwave through the illegal immigrant community.
Many such migrants had set up shop here and gotten way too comfortable under the Biden administration, and the expectation of a new sheriff in town terrified them.
One man in Arizona stated, "Reading stuff like that, it really hurts. Because I don't I know if I'm going to be here in a year. Or if I'm even on American soil, am I going to be in a jail cell, awaiting a trial or something? What is the next year going to look like for me? How hard is it going to be for me and my family?"
Nobody is above the law. That has been the motto of the Democrat Party since 2016, but they really only mean that no Republican is above the law.
It will make them happy to learn that someone in Leavitt’s family was arrested this week as part of Trump’s immigration crackdown.
According to reports, Bruna Caroline Ferreira, “a criminal illegal alien from Brazil,” was arrested in Massachusetts this week after having overstayed her tourist visa, which expired more than 25 years ago.
Ferreira shares a son with Leavitt's brother, Michael.
When Michael was asked about the arrest, he responded, “The only concern has always been the safety, well-being, and privacy of my son.”
When the press secretary was asked for a comment on the arrest, she did not respond, but a source close to her noted that the child has lived with his father his entire life and that Karoline Leavitt and Ferriera have not spoken in years.
The Department of Homeland Security did comment on the matter, stating, “She entered the US on a B2 tourist visa that required her to depart the US by June 6, 1999. She is currently at the South Louisiana ICE Processing Center and is in removal proceedings. Under President Trump and [DHS] Secretary [Kristi] Noem, all individuals unlawfully present in the United States are subject to deportation.”
Ferreira’s lawyer, Todd Pomerleau, claimed that she has no criminal record (other than overstaying her visa) and that she was in the process of getting her green card.
