Over the last few days, there have been some rather troublesome reports on the terrorism front.
I have long believed that many such groups are trying to infiltrate our country from within, and yesterday, we published a story about a new report that appears to back that up.
Today, we have another chapter of how residents of one Midwestern state -- Minnesota to be precise -- are allegedly funneling taxpayer money to a known terror group.
Yesterday, we had an alarming report from the Institute for the Study of Global Antisemitism and Policy (ISGAP).
The report outlined the existence of 100-year plan hatched by the Muslim Brotherhood to infiltrate and take over our country, and how the group is, effectively, already halfway to achieving its objectives.
ISGAP’s director, Dr. Charles Asher Small, stated, “We are now 50 years into the Brotherhood’s 100-year plan to entrench themselves into key institutions in the United States and other Western societies to undermine and destroy our democracy.” He continued, “This is not simply a political movement but a transnational ideological project that adapts itself to Western systems while working to undermine them.”
Now, before I am accused of being an “ist” or “ic” word, know that I believe there are plenty of Muslims in this country who actually have a deep love of it. But I will not pretend that zero radicals are hiding among them, people who want to fundamentally change this nation.
A report surfaced today on Fox News explaining that Ryan Thorpe and Christopher F. Rufo of the Manhattan Institute were able to trace Minnesota taxpayer dollars being funneled to Al-Shabaab, an al-Qaeda-linked terror group.
Now, we have seen this same pattern with NGOs getting money from USAID, which is why Elon Musk and company wanted to suspend many of the existing programs, some of which were sending money to what appeared to be shell companies that would then channel funds to various other groups, some believed to have terror group links.
Glenn Kerns, a retired Seattle Police Department detective who spent 14 years on a federal Joint Terrorism Task Force, contributed to the report, telling Thorpe and Rufo, "We had sources going into the hawalas to send money. I went down to [Minnesota] and pulled all of their records and, well s---, all these Somalis sending out money are on DHS benefits.”
Another source told them, "The largest funder of Al-Shabaab is the Minnesota taxpayer." One former task force official added, "Every scrap of economic activity, in the Twin Cities, in America, throughout Western Europe, anywhere Somalis are concentrated, every cent that is sent back to Somalia benefits Al-Shabaab in some way.”
Minnesota ranks 22nd in the nation in terms of population, but it now ranks 13th in the country in terms of Muslim inhabitants. If you go by percentage, it is sixth, and that is based on the 2020 census data.
According to more recent reports, there may be as many as 200,000 Muslims in Minnesota right now, which would easily put the state in the top 10 in the country, with about 50% of that population coming from Somalia. Sunni is the primary Islamic sect among those living in the area, and though it is generally considered a peaceful offshoot, there are extremist groups within it, as is the case with many religious denominations.
So, now we have two problems… first, we are seeing radical groups gain traction in this country. Second, even peaceful people who are living here but benefitting from government entitlement programs are sending money back to their home country, which, in some cases, then finds its way into the hands of terrorists. That means that American taxpayer dollars are being used to support terrorist groups and activities.
I am at a loss for words because I have no clue how to solve this problem. Further, if you try to raise the issue in a political context, it is often considered taboo, and you are called a racist or Islamophobic. All the while, our country is getting weaker and weaker, and it is becoming more exposed to mortal danger. How do we stop this?
