Throughout the 2025 election cycle, the left and many mainstream media outlets were presenting Zohran Mamdani as a sort of savior for the city of New York and the Democrat Party as a whole.
We often heard how he is the “future” of the party and how his voice could not be ignored. We also had “our” concerns about Mamdani dismissed by liberals and the mainstream media.
Now, however, the Washington Post (WaPo) finally admitted key facts about the mayor-elect's dark past, as if it is okay to discuss them now since he has already been elected.
One person I was surprised about in terms of taking too long to tell the truth was Mosab Hassan Yousef, the son of Hamas co-founder Sheikh Hassan Yousef.
Yousef has had no problem in the past ringing the bell to warn Americans about radicals taking office in this country, but I did not hear him say anything about Mamdani until it was too late.
He took direct aim at Mamdani, stating, “How can somebody who’s pro-disorder, pro-chaos, be trusted with ruling one of the most advanced cities in the West? Now, here’s what’s more dangerous about Mamdani. Mamdani is only a Trojan horse.”
Yousef continued, “Mamdani identifies as a socialist -- communism rebranded -- while embracing Islamist ideology. These twin ideologies represent catastrophic failures wherever they’ve been implemented.”
In a recent WaPo article on Mamdani, the publication said that he ran an “upbeat campaign, with a nice-guy demeanor and perpetual smile papering over a long history of divisive and demagogic statements.”
It is rather amazing that they just slipped that in now, after all the good press Mamdani got during the election cycle.
The paper then described his acceptance speech: “Across 23 angry minutes laced with identity politics and seething with resentment.”
We warned people, and then we warned them again that you have to dig into candidates to see their past actions and statements before believing a single word they say on the campaign trail. Not only did the media and Democrats ignore this advice, but they also painted Mamdani in a dishonest light that led to voters trusting him.
New York Gov. Kathy Hochul is guilty of the same thing, having endorsed Mamdani and creating the impression that she was on board with his agenda, only to backtrack once he prevailed at the polls.
She has stated she will buy into this free childcare scheme, but as far as free transportation goes, she has no more money to back his plan. If that was the case, then when did she not say that before the election?
Democrats were so desperate to keep power in New York City, they purposely hid facts, knowing full well that if Hochul had said earlier that she could not fund his agenda, he likely would have lost the race. At the very least, it would have been much tighter.
And think about how the primary race might have gone had Hochul come out to say that Mamdani’s agenda was little more than fantasy, and there was no way the state could afford all his freebies. Would he have even made it out of the primary race? I have been telling everyone for years that they cannot trust a single word they hear out of the mouth of a politician because they will all say anything to keep power. Sadly, many of our mainstream media outlets have now fallen into the same trap, becoming nothing more than another arm of the Democrat Party.
