Democrats lost the battle over the continuing resolution (CR), so now they are playing dirty.
As soon as the new Democrat congresswoman from Arizona is sworn in, Rep. Thomas Massie (R-KY) will have enough signatures to get his Jeffrey Epstein discharge petition on the House floor.
Democrats did not want to wait, however, as select Epstein-related emails were released that mentioned Donald Trump, and the White House is furious over it.
On Wednesday afternoon, Rep.-elect Adelita Grijalva (D-AZ) was sworn into office, giving Reps. Massie and Ro Khanna (D-CA) the final signature needed to force the Epstein discharge petition to the floor.
House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) opined, “It’s unbelievable that for seven-plus weeks, Representative-elect Adelita Grijalva ... decisively has been denied the ability to serve more than 800,000 people in Arizona. And why is that the case? It’s because Republicans are running a pedophile protection program. They are intentionally hiding the Jeffrey Epstein files."
Jeffries continued, “But those days are over, because as soon as Representative-elect Adelita Grijalva becomes Congresswoman Grijalva, her first act ... is going to be to sign that discharge petition. It’s going to force a vote on the House floor, and the American people are going to get the transparency that they deserve.”
Democrats seem to think that Trump will be hurt by these files, but people who are familiar with the details have repeatedly stated that there is nothing in there that can hurt Trump. That, however, did not stop Democrats from leaking information.
Ghislaine Maxwell, Epstein’s former partner in crime, has already gone on record saying that she never saw Trump do anything that would tie him to Epstein’s pedophilia. Even so, Democrats leaked emails out of context in an effort to hurt Trump anyway.
Epstein, in an email to Maxwell, wrote, "I want you to realize that that dog that hasn't barked is trump. [Victim] spent hours at my house with him, he has never once been mentioned." Maxwell responded, "I have been thinking about that ... "
There is another email in which author Michael Wolff exchanges notes with Epstein about a Trump media appearance in which he was expected to be asked about the disgraced billionaire. When Epstein asked for a strategy as to what Trump should say, Wolff responded, "I think you should let him hang himself. If he says he hasn't been on the plane or to the house, then that gives you a valuable PR and political currency.”
He continued, “You can hang him in a way that potentially generates a positive benefit for you, or, if it really looks like he could win, you could save him, generating a debt. Of course, it is possible that, when asked, he'll say Jeffrey is a great guy and has gotten a raw deal and is a victim of political correctness, which is to be outlawed in a Trump regime."
A third email sees Epstein writing, "Trump said he asked me to resign, never a member ever," Epstein wrote, "Of course he knew about the girls as he asked ghislaine to stop.”
This release is not good for Trump, but it is also not something that will crush him, even though the Democrats are going to play this up for all it is worth.
As such, the White House was forced to go on the defensive, responding, “The Democrats selectively leaked emails to the liberal media to create a fake narrative to smear President Trump. The ‘unnamed victim’ referenced in these emails is the late Virginia Giuffre, who repeatedly said President Trump was not involved in any wrongdoing whatsoever and ‘couldn’t have been friendlier’ to her in their limited interactions.”
The statement continued, “The fact remains that President Trump kicked Jeffrey Epstein out of his club decades ago for being a creep to his female employees, including Giuffre. These stories are nothing more than bad-faith efforts to distract from President Trump’s historic accomplishments, and any American with common sense sees right through this hoax and clear distraction from the government opening back up again.”
The real issue, of course, is that as White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt noted, the emails were leaked out of context, so until we get the full picture, we have no real idea how damaging this really is for Trump. But then the only way to know that would be for the White House to release all the documents, which is the end game of the Democrat Party.
