Today’s “thought” was about the identity of our country and securing our borders, and we wanted to hear from both sides of the aisle on this one. On the liberal side, we have Jessica T. from New Mexico, who responded:
“This question starts from a false premise. We're held to a different standard because we are different. We are a nation built by immigrants with a statue in our harbor that literally invites the world's ‘huddled masses.’"
“The ‘racist’ label isn't about the simple existence of laws; it's about how those laws are often enforced and the rhetoric used to justify them. The goal isn't to erase borders; it's to create a humane, orderly, and modern immigration system that reflects our nation's values and meets our economic needs, rather than clinging to a fearful isolationism that betrays our history.”
I hate to break it to you, Jessica, but we have a humane and orderly immigration system, provided that the laws are followed. Biden ignored the laws, and more than 10 million people crossed the border and flooded the country illegally. So, yes, I think they should be removed.
On the conservative side, we have Martin V, from Utah, who responded:
“The answer to your question is simple, and it's all about power. The ultimate goal of the globalist Left is to erase what makes America unique and sovereign. They seek to dilute our culture and our voting base because they know they cannot win on their ideas alone."

Martin, I agree. As you know, if you are a regular reader, I always point out that every move the Democrats make is about holding power and manipulating people with a narrative centered on racism. And while I disagree with just about everything Jessica said, I am glad she offered her input because at least we can start that dialogue. Keep the comments coming, everyone!
