After today, I have to wonder if Lara Trump will still be in good standing with the president.
She just appeared on the Pod Force One podcast, and she gave up more than I would have expected.
From how Trump felt when he left the White House in 2021, to aliens, to social media bans, she laid it all out.
Aliens are a hot topic right now, and it is likely about to get hotter after Lara’s comments regarding her father-in-law on the topic.
Lara revealed that she and her husband, Eric, were asking Trump about aliens, explaining, “We’ve kind of asked my father-in-law about this… we all want to know about the UFOs… and he played a little coy with us.”
She continued, “I’ve heard kind of around, I think my father-in-law has actually said it, that there is some speech that he has, that I guess at the right time, I don’t know when the right time is, he’s going to break out and talk about and it has to do with maybe some sort of extraterrestrial life.”
First, the Obama slip, and now Trump has a speech ready to go. The conspiracy theorists are loving every bit of this right now.
Lara seems to be in favor of a ban for children to a certain age on social media apps. Quite frankly, I have discussed this myself every time I see a child injured or killed due to some stupid TikTok challenge.
Having said that, I am just not sure how a ban would go over in MAGA world, but Lara says she is talking to the president about it all the time.
She explained, “When I talk to him about the studies that I’ve read and the way that a kid looks at a screen and their dopamine and their oxytocin and all these feel-good chemicals are firing, and then you take the screen away, and those all go away. Well, how are they ever going to get back to that in just regular life without a screen? They almost don’t.”
Well, if you don’t have the kids living on social media, they could get those same feelings from sports and playing with friends, right? This may not be popular, but I think it is truly something we need to look at for a variety of reasons, one of which is getting these kids to learn how to interact in society again, a skill many of them are lacking.
The one thing I was really surprised to hear her talk about, and I would wonder if Trump even wanted this out there, as it could be interpreted as a sign of weakness by his enemies, is how he felt when he left the White House after his first term.
She said the family was “in a place of despair,” then added, “It was very somber. It was an incredibly tough time for all of us, and I think it was an incredibly tough time for him. No one really had a lot to say.”
The one positive thing she said, however, was that night at dinner, Trump revealed to the family that he had already made up his mind to run again in 2024.
Trump does not like showing weakness at all, which is why he spits venom at anyone who dares to say anything negative about him or cross him. So, yeah, I would consider this a leak in a way, and I am very curious to see how the media, MAGA, and of course, President Trump, react to what Lara had to say on that podcast.
