“Franklin’s warning is the very definition of the American experiment, and it is being tested right now. Politicians like AOC and Mamdani don't frame it as ‘giving up liberty,’ of course; they frame it as ‘guaranteed security’—free healthcare, guaranteed income, safety from offense. But the price tag is always control.
“Once you depend on the government for your survival, you lose the ability to say ‘no’ to them. We are watching people willingly walk into a cage just because they are promised a free lunch inside. It isn't progress; it is surrender.”
