This is known as gaslighting, my friends. Here we have an elected official calling the apprehension of someone who entered the country illegally as kidnapping, solely to create an emotional reaction, in this case, outrage, from her followers. This is exactly why attacks against ICE agents continue to climb at an alarming rate.

Today’s “thought” was on the obsession Democrats have of overtaxing the rich. Now, I am far from rich, not even close, as I am firmly embedded in the middle class, but I recognize who creates jobs in this country. So, to that point, I asked our readers what they think about this obsession by Democrats on this front, and Richard T. from Arizona responded:

“It is simple math that the Democrats refuse to acknowledge. You cannot lift the bottom by pulling down the top. Coolidge understood that the wealthy are the engine of the economy, not the enemy. When you punish success with excessive taxation, capital flees, investment dries up, and the "jobs" simply disappear or move overseas.

“The top 1% paying 40% of the taxes is already carrying the nation's financial burden. Demanding "more" isn't about economics; it's about punishment and envy, and it will only hurt the very workers they claim to be protecting.”

Well said, Richard, and I would take it a step further. Rather than overtaxing the rich, give them another tax benefit to invest in our communities with training programs and educational scholarships. I would rather see the rich invest their money in these programs and develop them than trust a corrupt government to develop them and spend the money properly. After all, if the government were fiscally responsible, we would not be $37 trillion in debt as a nation.
