“Emerson’s words are the cure for the victim mentality that is poisoning this country. Everywhere you look, someone is blaming their parents, the government, or ‘the system’ for where they ended up. But none of that matters if you have the grit to push through it.

“The men and women who built this nation didn't have easy lives; they had strong backbones. If you fix what is inside you—your work ethic, your faith, your integrity—the obstacles on the outside start to look a lot smaller.”
