Man terrorist arrested for alleged role in Benghazi attack

Arguably, the biggest failure of the Obama administration and the career of Hillary Clinton was Benghazi.

If you have read the books or seen the movie about the incident, it is pretty hard not to argue that Obama and Clinton put Americans second to optics, and that should never be the case.

Even so, Hillary was never held accountable, and there has been little in the way of justice, but that just changed.

I did nothing wrong

Hillary’s comments about this debacle would have been comical were it not for the horrific and unnecessary loss of life.

The former Secretary of State has always claimed these were political attacks against her to justify her response that day.

She has previously defended herself, stating, "Those who exploit this tragedy over and over as a political tool minimize the sacrifice of those who served our country.”

She had further written, "I will not be a part of a political slugfest on the backs of dead Americans. It's just plain wrong, and it's unworthy of our great country. Those who insist on politicizing the tragedy will have to do so without me."

Benghazi failures

But this was not a political attack, just as the hard criticisms of Joe Biden regarding the Afghanistan withdrawal were not a political attack.

In both cases, lives were unnecessarily lost because of bad decisions, period. If there was ever a time I thought those decisions would result in action in terms of a congressional hearing, this was it, but they failed us again.

I actually believe that this hearing was what ultimately led to the retirement of Rep. Trey Gowdy (R-SC) from Congress. It was this hearing that made him realize these hearings are nothing more than a show, and they achieve very little in terms of real-life consequences.

Hillary was defiant, Republicans called out her failures, a report was issued, but nothing ever came of it other than a few harsh comments from Republicans. Her decisions that day cost people their lives… and she did not get so much as a slap on the wrist for it.

It’s not Hillary, but…

This weekend, an arrest was announced of one of the men who allegedly killed the four Americans that fateful day that took place more than a decade ago.

Early Friday, Zubayr al-Bakoush arrived at Joint Base Andrews, with top Department of Justice officials announcing he would face eight federal counts related to the deaths of Sept. 11, 2012, attack that killed Ambassador J. Christopher Stevens, State Department officer Sean Smith, and CIA contractors Tyrone Woods and Glen Doherty.

U.S. Attorney Jeanine Pirro, more famously known as Judge Jeanine, stated, "For 13 hours, Americans waited for help that never came. Today, American justice has arrived."

I think it is great for the families of the fallen to finally see some justice for the deaths of their loved ones, but it still does not address the horrific failure in leadership from Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama, then-Secretary of Defense Leon E. Panetta, and then-Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Martin E. Dempsey.
