That did not work out well. Zohran Mamdani is only in his second month as the mayor of New York City, and he has had several fires to put out, but the latest one could end his political career before it ever really gets started. Read more…

Reader Comment of the Day

Today’s “thought” was inspired by a quote by Booker T. Washington about measuring success by the obstacles you have overcome in life and your overall happiness rather than the zeroes before the decimal point in your bank account. Our comment today comes from Donovan H. from South Dakota, who stated:

“Washington nailed it. We live in a world obsessed with titles and bank accounts, but none of that matters if you haven't built the character to sustain it. My version of success doesn't look like a magazine cover. It looks like raising three kids who grew up to be good citizens, paying off a mortgage on a blue-collar wage, and being able to look myself in the mirror every morning knowing I didn't cheat anyone to get where I am.

“The obstacles aren't just things in the way; they are the things that forge you. If you didn't have to fight for it, you don't really own it.”

Donovan, I love the last part of your response, in “owning” your success. Well said, sir.
