This is a great post by Pete Buttigieg except for one thing: he leaves out the part where Kayleigh McEnany gets to respond and rip his arrogant little speech to shreds…
I love this quote by Booker T. Washington:
"I have learned that success is to be measured not so much by the position that one has reached in life as by the obstacles which he has overcome while trying to succeed."
While there is a general perception of success being rich and at the top of the food chain, I have never measured success in that way. When I look at my life and having overcome the economic meltdown of 2008, losing my career as a hotel executive, and pivoting to writing, as well as overcoming three spinal surgeries, I would consider where I am in life right now to be a success.
I am far from rich, but I have amazing friends, I love my job, my bills are paid, and I get to play golf every week. I really don’t need much more than that. How do you measure success in your life? Click here to respond.
