Donald Trump has figured out a new way to give Democrats a heart attack, and he continues to add to the list.
That would be Trump throwing up new monuments that are likely to have his name attached to them.
The latest being a massive arch that Trump will add to DC, giving liberals and Democrats a complete meltdown in the process.
If you look throughout history, you will find that most presidents have made some renovation to the White House, and nobody ever objected.
Trump, however, sparked widespread outrage when he announced plans to replace the East Wing of the White House with a brand-new ballroom.
For instance, Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) posted, “This is Trump’s presidency in a single photo: Illegal, destructive, and not helping you.”
It is just more proof that if the bad orange man does it, Democrats will object to it. Had this been proposed by Obama, Biden, or any other president, everyone would be saying, “Well, it’s about time the White House has an appropriate ballroom.” But it’s Trump, so it’s an issue.
When a race is held in a city, it generally leads to a huge boost to the local economy.
Trump is trying to turn the 250th birthday of this country into a one-of-a-kind spectacle, and as part of that, he announced the Freedom 250 Grand Prix to be held August 21 through August 23. The only problem is that Trump will need Congress to approve it since DC falls under the purview of Congress.
Trump stated, "We're celebrating greatness with American motor racing. And I said, pick our best site. It's very important. Pick the best site. Don't go for second or third because there are a lot of different routes. I said pick, even if it's more difficult to get approved, pick the absolute best site.”
The official route will have to be determined by the Departments of Transportation and the Interior, but Democrats, of course, are opposed to the idea. Senator Minority Leader Schumer (D-NY) has already expressed his opposition, so Trump will need to woo a handful of Senate Dems to back the plan. Personally, I love the idea, and I hope we have enough Democrats who can put their hatred of Trump on the back burner and approve this race.
I feel pretty confident in saying that Democrats likely believe that anything that Trump builds in DC will have his name on it, and the last thing they want to see is Trump’s name plastered all over DC even after he leaves.
So, one can only imagine how Democrats felt when Trump announced the Independence Arch for America. The White House stated, "The Arch is going to be one of the most iconic landmarks not only in Washington, D.C., but throughout the world.”
The announcement continued, "President Trump’s bold vision will be imprinted upon the fabric of America and be felt by generations to come. His successes will continue to give the greatest Nation on earth — America — the glory it deserves."
Trump has jokingly called this the “Triumphal Arch,” which drew immediate pushback from Democrats, so I would not get my hopes up about this too soon. We know Dems will fight it, but so let’s see how it all plays out in the courts and if Trump can get it approved before the 2026 midterm elections are completed.
