As you can see, the left is creating sensationalist posts to make it appear like people working at McDonald’s are in the same league as someone like Elon Musk. It is like saying someone who dropped out of school in the third grade should be able to make as much as someone who studied to become a surgeon. This, to me, is a manipulative post designed solely to create outrage…
After seeing the videos posted of the brave souls intervening during the terror attack at Bondi Beach, my “thought” today was about the people who dare to act rather than those who stand by and record video to get extra likes and clicks for their social media accounts. I also referenced a John Wayne quote about courage.
Today’s reader comment comes from Douglas S. from Kansas, who responded:
“John Wayne defined American grit. The behavior you are describing -- people filming crimes instead of stopping them—isn't just cowardice; it is a sickness. We have raised a culture that values 'clout' and viral views over human life. Standing by and recording a tragedy so you can post it online is the height of moral bankruptcy."
“Those civilians who stepped in are a reminder of who we used to be, while the ones holding the phones are a sad reminder of what we are becoming. We need more men willing to saddle up and fewer looking for the perfect camera angle.”
I agree, Douglas, and I would only hope that if ever in that situation, I would take action to help rather than whip out my phone to record the tragedy.
