Video of the Night

In our early afternoon newsletter, we reported on an alleged group of mercenaries being captured in Venezuela, which the Venezuelan government claims has direct ties to the CIA. This has really turned up the heat on Trump’s anti-drug crusade, which is not being helped by the fact that Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) is siding with Democrats and accusing the president of “extrajudicial killing.” This is becoming a bigger problem for Trump by the minute…

Reader Comment of the Day

Today, I asked a really hard question about ostracizing party members who push back on certain policies, and we got some incredible feedback from our readers. Today’s chosen response comes from Brenda S. out of Nebraska, who stated:

“This is an honest and much-needed point. We rightly condemn the Left for their ’allegiance or else’ cancel culture, so we must be principled enough to hold ourselves to a higher standard. Our movement was built on a foundation of ideas, not on loyalty to one man."

“We are stronger when we allow for principled debate and don't eat our own. It's the difference between a political movement based on shared values and a cult of personality.”

Well said, Brenda, and I agree. As a party, we need to find a way to communicate behind the scenes to find common ground and not fight these battles in view of the public. It’s okay to disagree, but it surely should not result in ostracization from the party. We have to be better in such a polarizing political environment.
