Reader Comment of the Day

Today’s thought was inspired by an Abraham Lincoln quote and the courts' tendency to kick the can down the road regarding sanctuary city status, a major issue in this country. Our comment today comes from Marshall V. out of Kentucky, who responded:

“Lincoln's warning should be plastered on the doors of every sanctuary city mayor's office. They think that by ignoring federal immigration laws today, they are being 'virtuous,' but they are really just piling up chaos for tomorrow. We are already seeing the bill come due in the form of rising crime and strained budgets."

“The Supreme Court absolutely needs to step in and end this charade. You cannot have a functioning republic where a city council has the power to nullify federal law. The longer the courts evade this fight, the more painful the inevitable correction is going to be.”
