Van Jones discusses Charlie Kirk's attempt to resolve differences via debate

The recent stabbing death of Iryna Zarutska, a white Ukrainian refugee, on a train by a Black male, became a source of contention between Charlie Kirk and CNN’s Van Jones days before the conservative activist was killed.

Surveillance video appeared to capture the train murder suspect saying, “I stabbed that white girl,” or something close to that, as the video is a bit inaudible, and it is tough to tell who was speaking at the time.

However, we do hear what seems to be the same voice later in the video, in which the alleged killer was featured again, so it is not a leap to say the murder suspect is the one who uttered that line, and that was at the heart of the debate between Van Jones and Kirk just days before the latter's own death.

Senseless murder

Zarutska did nothing wrong other than choosing to sit down in front of someone who now appears to have been a mentally deranged individual.

She had no way of knowing that taking that seat would trigger the man to commit a brutal murder, stabbing her repeatedly in the neck.

Attorney General Pamela Bondi later stated, "[Ms Zarutska's] horrific murder is a direct result of failed soft-on-crime policies that put criminals before innocent people.”

U.S. Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy added, "If mayors can't keep their trains and buses safe, they don't deserve the taxpayers' money.”

Kirk and Jones

Kirk, days before his death, addressed the stabbing, claiming that it was racially motivated and everyone knew it, but he did not stop there. The conservative activist further stated that if the racial makeup of the parties involved had been reversed, it would have created national outrage and been on the front page of every major publication, not to mention dominating cable news, an assertion to which Jones took exception.

Jones responded to Kirk’s comments while appearing on CNN, saying, “And for Charlie Kirk to say, 'We know he did it because she's white,' when there's no evidence of that, is just pure race-mongering, hate-mongering. It's wrong. Then he says that if something like that had happened the other way, there would be sweeping changes imposed on society.”

He later added, “What happened was horrible, but it becomes an opportunity for people to jump on bandwagons. And then for someone like Charlie Kirk, he should be ashamed of himself. No one mentioned the word race, white, Black, or anything except him. What people mentioned is the horror of what happened to this young woman."

As I have stated in other reports, Kirk had no problem addressing very uncomfortable issues, and rants like Jones’ were usually the response he received. Kirk said what people were thinking out loud, and Jones attacked him for it.

Last debate

Jones revealed this week that he and Kirk were planning on having a debate on this subject and likely many others, stating, "The day before he was horrifically murdered, Charlie Kirk sent me a direct message on X. He and I had been sparring publicly over the killing of a Ukrainian refugee and its relationship to race.”

The CNN personality then claimed that his response to Kirk's take elicited more racial threats than he had ever seen before. Kirk, however, sent him a text, stating, "Hey, Van, I mean it, I’d love to have you on my show to have a respectful conversation about crime and race. I would be a gentleman as I know you would be as well. We can disagree about the issues agreeably."

Jones continued, "Unfortunately, before I could even respond, Charlie Kirk was killed -- seemingly assassinated for the words he’s spoken, though the killer’s exact motives are still being investigated.”

This would have been an epic debate, but I cannot get over the fact that Jones had made racist accusations against Kirk when Kirk’s stance on racism was quite clear. You are not a racist for stating uncomfortable truths. Sadly, however, that is the spin that the left puts on it nearly 100% of the time.
