Throughout the 2024 election cycle, the Trump campaign promised transparency on the Jeffrey Epstein files.
Trump’s biggest supporters, the MAGA crowd, were expected to see exactly who in our political and entertainment world was partaking in Epstein’s services.
The FBI and DOJ recently announced that there was no client list to be revealed, which did not sit well with MAGA, and now Trump is trying to put that fire out.
It was not just the usual players on social media who were upset with the big announcement, as there were also some big names calling on Trump to fire Attorney General Pam Bondi or at leasts demanding more transparency.
For instance, General Michael Flynn (ret.) posted, "@realDonaldTrump please understand the EPSTEIN AFFAIR is not going away. If the administration doesn’t address the massive number of unanswered questions about Epstein, especially the ABUSE OF CHILDREN BY ELITES (it is very clear that abuse occurred), then moving forward on so many other monumental challenges our nation is facing becomes much harder."
Glenn Beck posted a video, asking for Trump to fire Bondi, but also stressing how much he wanted to see Dan Bongino, who reportedly erupted over this, kept on as the deputy director of the FBI.
Trump had no choice but to address the situation if he wants to keep Bondi in her position, as many of his supporters are now asking for her head on a platter over this.
If the order came down to bury the files, as I believe, that order came from above, not from Bondi, and my suspicions have more or less been confirmed by Trump’s adamant defense of the AG this weekend.
Trump posted, "What's going on with my ‘boys’ and, in some cases, ‘gals?' They’re all going after Attorney General Pam Bondi, who is doing a FANTASTIC JOB. We’re on one Team, MAGA, and I don’t like what’s happening."
He then added, "They created the Epstein Files, just like they created the FAKE Hillary Clinton/Christopher Steele Dossier that they used on me, and now my so-called ‘friends’ are playing right into their hands. Why didn’t these Radical Left Lunatics release the Epstein Files? If there was ANYTHING in there that could have hurt the MAGA Movement, why didn’t they use it?"
Trump concluded, "LET PAM BONDI DO HER JOB -- SHE’S GREAT! The 2020 Election was Rigged and Stolen, and they tried to do the same thing in 2024 — That’s what she is looking into as AG, and much more. One year ago our Country was DEAD, now it’s the ‘HOTTEST’ Country anywhere in the World. Let’s keep it that way, and not waste Time and Energy on Jeffrey Epstein, somebody that nobody cares about."
FBI Director Kash Patel also spoke out, posting, "The conspiracy theories just aren’t true, never have been. It's an honor to serve the President of the United States @realDonaldTrump -- and I'll continue to do so for as long as he calls on me."
The only one in the inner circle we have not heard from is Bongino, who reportedly blew up at Bondi during the meeting about the Epstein files, with reports emerging that the deputy director is considering resigning over this.
My take on this is that once the files were released, they realized that this scandal ran so deep into our government that it was better to bury the files than to completely destroy dozens, if not hundreds, of officials. Again, this is my speculation. And if that call was made, it surely did not come from Bondi, but from much higher, likely White House counsel and/or Trump himself.
While the post on Truth Social was nice, if Trump wants to save Bondi, he really needs to address this issue on live TV during a presser or at a White House briefing. If not, MAGA will never get behind Bondi again, and it could impact Trump’s personnel preferences in the future, as the base will feel betrayed and that they can no longer trust this administration. Most of us may have put the Epstein scandal in the rearview mirror, but this was and is a big deal for MAGA, so Trump has to handle this perfectly.
