Trump reportedly losing patience with Hamas as ceasefire remains elusive

During the 2024 presidential campaign, Donald Trump said he was the only one who could end the conflicts involving both Israel and Ukraine.

Trump has now been in office for eight months, and both wars continue to rage on.

The president seems to have lost his patience, threatening Russia was severe sanctions and as giving Hamas one last opportunity to take the deal that is on the table or suffer his wrath.

Hamas rejects deal

In the spring, it seemed as though there had been forward momentum for Hamas to take a ceasefire deal, but things quickly fell apart.

The White House had announced the prospective agreement, with press secretary Karoline Leavitt stating, "I can confirm that Special Envoy Witkoff and the president submitted a ceasefire proposal to Hamas that Israel backed and supported. Israel signed off on this proposal before it was sent to Hamas.”

Hamas, however, rejected the terms, stating that it was not reflective of the discussions that had taken place with Witkoff.

This was disappointing for the Trump administration, and Israel decided to turn up the heat.

Bombs away

I really don’t believe that Israel has ever wanted a ceasefire, and I don’t blame its leaders at all. The mission has always been to eradicate Hamas because we all know that unless they are all gone, the organization will just come back stronger.

With Hamas continuing to play hardball, Israel just announced that it is done playing games.

Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz stated, "This is a final warning to the Hamas murderers and rapists in Gaza and in luxury hotels abroad: Release the hostages and put down your weapons -- or Gaza will be destroyed and you will be annihilated.”

He further warned, "Today, a massive hurricane will hit the skies of Gaza City.”

Trump backs the plan

Trump really has been trying to play peacemaker here, but now he appears to have given Israel the green light to do whatever it deems necessary to end this war.

The president warned Hamas, "Everyone wants the hostages HOME. Everyone wants this War to end. The Israelis have accepted my Terms. It is time for Hamas to accept as well."

He continued, "I have warned Hamas about the consequences of not accepting. This is my last warning, there will not be another one! Thank you for your attention to this matter."

Since the initial attack, I have made my position on Hamas and Palestine very clear. I fully support this, and if Hamas does not sign the deal, I hope Israel lives up to its threat and goes after Hamas with everything it has.
