Trump goes to war with Republican Congressman Thomas Massie

Rep. Thomas Massie (R-KY) has been a thorn in Donald Trump’s side since he reclaimed the Oval Office.

When Massie refused to support the BBB, Trump went ballistic, but now Massie is also pressing for the full release of all Epstein files.

That has been the last straw for Trump, who is now vowing to find a primary challenger to face off against Massie to have him removed from office.

No BBB

Massie made it quite clear that he had no intention of supporting the BBB, and he cited several reasons for his position.

The fact that the bill was not being paid for in full in the legislation was just the starting point, as Massie was also upset that Congress was not being given enough time to review the bill before the vote.

He stated, “Major provisions of the big beautiful bill are still being negotiated and written, yet we are being told we will vote on it today.”

Massie then added, “Shouldn’t we take more than a few hours to read a bill this big and this consequential?”

Release the files

After the Trump administration announced that there was no client list to be released from the Epstein files, Massie pounced, demanding full transparency of the materials, joining with an effort from Democrats to have them fully released.

Some of Trump’s surrogates are claiming that Massie sat on his hands regarding these files when former President Joe Biden was in office, but that is not true, as he made the same request during the last administration.

Massie has teamed up with Rep. Ro Khanna (D-CA), who I believe is arguably the most dangerous Democrat in office. I have already gone on record saying that he is my dark horse presidential candidate for the Democrats in 2028, and we need to be wary of him.

Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA), however, is blocking the effort, saying he will not take up any new issues until after the upcoming break.

Has to go

Trump has been jousting with Massie for months, but now he is making it quite clear that the congressman has to go in the 2026 cycle.

He posted, "Thomas Massie, the worst Republican Congressman, and an almost guaranteed NO VOTE each and every time, is an Embarrassment to Kentucky. He’s lazy, slow moving, and totally disingenuous - A real loser!"

Trump continued, “Never has anything positive to add. Looking for someone good to run against this guy, someone I can Endorse and vigorously campaign for!"

Massie is very popular in his district, so I am not sure that Trump will win this battle, and that would be an absolute disaster for him. The media is already trying to drive a wedge between Trump and MAGA over the Epstein files, but if Trump makes a spectacle over removing Massie, and he fails, the media and Democrats are going to pounce.
