A decade ago, Mark Levin swore on air he'd never vote for Donald Trump. On Sunday, Trump rushed to defend him against a woman who once worked alongside them both at Fox News. The conservative media civil war just got personal.
This was something you would have never seen take place a decade ago, as Levin considered himself a member of the never-Trump group, fully supporting Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) in the 2016 presidential election.
But like Cruz, Levin is now firmly entrenched in the Trump camp.
Levin had gone after Trump hard during the 2016 election cycle, but it was the direct insults against Cruz during the primary that really set him off. In addition to that, as Politico reported at the time, Trump ally Roger Stone had threatened to reveal the hotel rooms where delegates were staying in an effort to sway them to Trump.
Levin stated, “As a result of what the Trump supporters have attempted here, particularly Roger Stone, I am not voting for Donald Trump. Period.”
He later added, “So I want to congratulate Roger Stone. And if anybody has a problem with that Donald Trump, you can talk to Roger Stone. These bully dirty tricks Nixonian tactics, they’re only going to backfire. So count me as never Trump.”
Levin also stated that if the campaign upset him again, “I’m going to urge millions and millions of you, should he get the nomination, not to vote for him either.”
Everyone remembers how Trump and Fox News’ Megyn Kelly squared off during the debate, but now Kelly is an independent. Kelly and Levin, who were once colleagues, are now bickering over everything, from Ben Shapiro to Tucker Carlson to Operation Epic Fury.
Levin and Kelly often trade barbs on social media, which is where the latest insult trades took place. Levin, on Kelly, posted, “She’s completely revealed and destroyed herself. She’s everything people say she is, but much worse. Never an intelligent, thoughtful, or substantive comment. Utterly toxic.”
Kelly fired right back, “Micrope*is Mark @marklevinshow thinks he has the monopoly on lewd. He tweets about me obsessively in the crudest, nastiest terms possible. Literally more than some stalkers I’ve had arrested. He doesn’t like it when women like me fight back. Bc of his micrope*is.”
Levin, refusing to let it go, hit her right back, posting to X, “Busy Sunday morning for Megyn Kelly. She wakes up and has ‘micrope*is’ on her mind. Suffice to say, if it talks like a harlot, and posts like a harlot, it’s … well, you know the rest.”
On Sunday, Trump defended Levin on Truth Social, saying that Levin was “somewhat under siege by other people with far less Intellect, Capability, and Love for our Country.” Trump then claimed that Levin is “far smarter than those who criticize him but, above all, he is a man of Great Wisdom and Common Sense who truly loves our Country.”
Trump was not done yet, continuing, “Those that speak ill of Mark will quickly fall by the wayside, as do the people whose ideas, policies, and footings are not sound. THEY ARE NOT MAGA, I AM, and MAGA includes not allowing Iran, a Sick, Demented, and Violent Terrorist Regime, to have a Nuclear Weapon to blow up the United States of America, the Middle East, and, ultimately, the rest of the World.”
Levin is a very intelligent man; there is no question about that, but he goes where the money is, which is why he switched from being a never-Trump to pro-Trump in a heartbeat. There was no longer money in being anti-Trump, so he became pro-Trump for clicks, likes, shares, and to sell books.
Having said that, Megyn Kelly is no better. She was once a brilliant conservative female voice, and now she pitches conspiracy theories and saddles up to the likes of Tucker Carlson and Candace Owens, both of whom have fallen off the deep end. I don’t have a horse in this race, as I think both Levin and Kelly have sold out. And that is why I was so surprised to see Trump even waste his time weighing in on this feud.
