Donald Trump’s anti-crime stance has forced Democrats to hide in the corner when crimes are committed rather than side with the president.
That has never been more true than after a horrific video showed the moments leading up to the murder of an innocent woman on a train in North Carolina.
For days, Democrats have been silent, but now that silence has been broken, it is far too late, with their underlying sentiment exposed to the nation as way off base.
The moments leading up to the aforementioned murder can be seen on a video on Fox News (as well as other outlets), but it is quite disturbing.
The victim, 23-year-old Iryna Zarutska, sits down in front of the alleged killer, Decarlos Brown, who appeared stressed over her presence.
After fidgeting around for a few moments, he very calmly takes a pocket knife out, opens it up, stands up over Zarutska, and you can see him raise his hand to strike just as the video cuts out.
She was stabbed at least three times, once in the neck, and was pronounced dead at the scene.
North Carolina, which has a Democrat governor, soon became a target for Trump.
The president, after hearing of the attack, stated, “There are evil people, and we have to confront that. I just give my love and hope to the family of the young woman who was stabbed this morning or last night in Charlotte by a madman.”
Trump continued, “A lunatic just got up and started -- it’s right on the tape, not really watchable, because it’s so horrible -- but just viciously stabbed. She’s just sitting there. So they’re evil people. We have to be able to handle that. If we don’t handle that, we don’t have a country.”
I agree with Trump completely on this, and I was shocked that even days after the attack, not a single Democrat had spoken up against the crime.
North Carolina Gov. Josh Stein had not commented on the attack, which took place on August 22 (but is just now being openly reported), and he was taking heat on social media, with one person posting, "@NC_Governor Josh Stein, a Democrat, has had nothing to say about the brutal murder of Iryna Zarutska, a resident of his state. Yet, in 2020, when he was attorney general, he DID find time to lament the death of George Floyd and initiate a "Task Force for Racial Equity in Criminal Justice."
Stein finally addressed the murder, more than two weeks after the fact, stating, "I am heartbroken for the family of Iryna Zarutska, who lost their loved one to this senseless act of violence, and I am appalled by the footage of her murder. We need more cops on the beat to keep people safe.”
White House deputy press secretary Abigail Marone lit him up for his response, stating, "He was arrested 14 times. The police did their jobs. You did not. And shame on you for trying to shift the blame."
No cash bail. Not prosecuting certain crimes. This all leads to more violent crimes, in my opinion, as criminals seem to grow more emboldened with the more you let them get away with their offenses. This is what happens when activists are elected into prosecutor roles. It is despicable that Stein put responsibility on the police when they, as was noted, did their jobs, but the state justice system did not. When will the people of this country learn that Democrats are only looking out for criminals rather than law-abiding citizens.
