Democrats have been taking shots at Republicans for more than a decade, yet they continue to maintain that it is Republicans who are spitting the violent rhetoric in public.
House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY), who has uttered more than his fair share of rhetoric against Republicans, just hammered House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) for comments he made about Democrats.
At the same time, nary a word was said when a Democrat in the Texas state legislature made a throat-cutting gesture, followed up by comments about the need to wipe out Republicans.
Longtime Democratic Party strategist James Carville has turned into nothing but a liberal hack since leaving the game, which is a shame because he was once regarded as one of the more brilliant minds in politics.
You would have thought he would have learned his lesson after he was forced to apologize to first lady Melania Trump over comments attempting to link her to Jeffrey Epstein, but he just continues to pour on the crazy, sounding more unhinged by the day.
Now he wants to punish all of Donald Trump's “collaborators” after the president leaves office, stating, “You know what we do with collaborators? My fantasy dream is that this nightmare ends in 2029. I think we ought to have radical things. I think they all ought to have their heads shaved.”
He continued, “They should be put in orange pajamas and marched down Pennsylvania Avenue, and the public should be invited to spit on them. All of these collaborators should be shaved, pajama-clad, and spat on.”
In one of the more comical media segments this week, Jeffries called out Johnson for calling Democrats “legislative terrorists.” Mind you, in the past, Jeffries used words like “crime boss” and “racist” to describe Trump, Republicans, and their policies, as well as saying that Republicans “are pushing ‘white supremacy’ -- invoking Jim Crow, the KKK, and lynching.”
Jeffries responded to Johnson’s comments, stating, “That type of language is reckless, it’s irresponsible, and it’s going to get someone killed. What do these folks not understand as it relates to the language that they continue to use?”
He continued, “We should be able to battle it out in the contest of ideas as opposed to trying to use these extreme terms that have been unleashed on the American people from the very beginning of this presidency, and, as a matter of fact, for a long period of time, by the current president and those sycophants who continue to do nothing more than rubber stamp his extreme agenda and hurt the American people."
So, it is okay when members of his party call Trump a “wannabe Hitler,” “Nazi,” “fascist,” etc., but “legislative terrorist” is going too far? The hypocrisy is beyond rich.
That brings us to recent comments from Democrat Texas State Rep. Jolanda Jones, who stated, “I’m from the hood, okay? So when a bully comes, like, if there are no rules, you literally have to figure it out. So, Donald Trump has changed things, and people trying to do what’s always been done is not going to work. And I think that’s why Democrats are losing black people, that’s why they’re losing poor people, because poor people, all they want is for us to fight.”
Jones continued, “So if you hit me in my face, I’m not going to punch you back in your face, I’m going to go across your neck, because we can go back and forth fighting each other’s faces. You’ve got to hit hard enough where they won’t come back.” It was during that part of her rant that she made a throat-cutting gesture.
She later tried to justify her comments while speaking to Axios, going the route of what Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-NY) told the media after he was called out for his threat against Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh, stating, “If you grew up in the hood like me, that’s the fastest way, literally, to be killed. … My brother was murdered, my aunt was murdered, my cousin was murdered. My dad blew his brains out. So, I come from a different world where everything isn’t so pretty like the Democrats want. Sometimes sh*t is ugly. And you’ve got to be able to fight ugly.”
So she gets a free pass on the violent rhetoric because she grew up in a tough neighborhood? I don’t think so. If you are going to call out Trump for his silly nicknames, then how does the media just sit silently while these violent comments and gestures are made by Democrats? The double standard is very real, my friends.
