Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-NY) is trying to play hardball with President Donald Trump in the hopes of tripping him up over the Epstein files.

Trump has been downplaying the importance of the files, which led some Democrats to assume that the president is implicated in them.

So, Schumer is now attempting to use a century-old law to force the files' release.

Doesn’t exist

For years, Trump and his surrogates have been pushing the idea that there was an Epstein client list, and the files, once released, would take down powerful Democrats.

Yet, Attorney General Pam Bondi and FBI Director Kash Patel announced that there was no such list, something which did not sit well with MAGA.

For instance, conservative commentator Jack Posobiec posted, “We were all told more was coming. That answers were out there and would be provided."

He added, “Incredible how utterly mismanaged this Epstein mess has been. And it didn’t have to be.”

It’s another hoax

As MAGA erupted, Trump pleaded with his followers to back off, pushing the idea that this was all just another hoax created by Democrats.

Trump stated, “Their new SCAM is what we will forever call the Jeffrey Epstein Hoax, and my PAST supporters have bought into this ‘bullshit,’ hook, line, and sinker. They haven’t learned their lesson, and probably never will, even after being conned by the Lunatic Left for 8 long years."

The president went on, “Let these weaklings continue forward and do the Democrats work, don’t even think about talking of our incredible and unprecedented success, because I don’t want their support anymore!”

All that did, however, was infuriate MAGA more and energize Democrats to have the files released.

Playing his hand

Schumer is hoping to take Trump out any way he can, so he has resorted to a law that is 100 years old to force the files to be released.

The senator is hoping to use the “Rule of Five,” which means that any five senators on the Homeland Security Committee can demand the files be released by the executive branch, and by law, that is what must occur.

Schumer stated, "While protecting the victims' identities can and must be of top importance, the public has a right to know who enabled, knew of, or participated in one of the most heinous sex trafficking operations in history.”

The more the Trump administration fights against the release, the more it makes it look like the president is trying to cover something up. There is no way out of this now… Trump must release those files.
