Rubio exposes deep state effort to flip Russian collusion narrative

Over the last two weeks, arguably the biggest story in decades has been the alleged creation of the Russian collusion narrative against Donald Trump during the Obama administration.

In efforts to defend the narrative, Democrats are now dragging a past investigation led by then-Senb. Marco Rubio (R-FL) into the discussion.

Well, Rubio just had a few choice words about the narrative that Democrats are trying to pitch.

The scandal

We have covered the information released by DNI Tulsi Gabbard already, so there is no need to rehash all of that, but I really wanted to take a second to discuss the narrative being pushed versus the information she recently revealed before we get into the meat of this report.

Gabbard’s new information is about how the narrative of Russian collusion was created, not about the investigations into what Russia did or did not do in the 2016 election.

For decades, foreign governments have tried to influence our elections. They did it in 2016, they did it in 2020, they did it in 2024, and they surely did it in elections prior to those, as has the United States. Every country will try to get its preferred official elected -- this is nothing new.

The issue with the Gabbard report is that the investigation against Trump was launched AFTER officials in the Obama administration concocted the idea that Clinton's rival was working directly with the Russians. That is a completely different issue from investigating Russian interference in our election.

Damage control

This week, former Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) Director John Brennan and former Director of National Intelligence (DNI) James Clapper went on the defensive to counter the allegations made by DNI Tulsi Gabbard.

In their op-ed, they maintained that the Steele dossier was “not used as a source or taken into account for any of its analysis or conclusions,” and only a “summary of the dossier was added as a separate annex only to the most highly classified version of the document.”

That, however, is just blatantly false, as we learned from the Mueller and Durham investigations. The dossier was leaned on heavily for FISA warrants, so they are again lying to cover their tracks.

Furthermore, it has been proven that the ODNI was leaking information to the media to push the narrative regarding the collusion between Donald Trump and Russia. This was a blatantly invented narrative.

Rubio pushes back

Rubio is furious that his name is being dragged into this on the basis of a report issued by his former committee on Russian collusion, which found that while Trump was not working with the Russians, the Russians did try to impact the election (however, they found they were likely unsuccessful in swaying voters).

He stated, "This dossier was a piece of campaign disinformation. It was paid for by political campaigns. It is a huge outrage because it was fake. It was a lie. And they used it to mislead the American public. It cost millions of dollars in investigations, all chasing a hoax.”

Then Rubio went off on the media for pushing the narrative and for blatantly twisting the information revealed by Gabbard, stating, "You had some of the highest-level officials in our intelligence agency in the country taking that fake, ridiculous dossier and using it to influence and inform an official intelligence assessment of what happened in this campaign. The media is either uninterested or too lazy to understand those nuances and that reality."

This is dishonest reporting on the part of the mainstream media today. It is why I keep hammering the point that everyone is missing the central point that Gabbard has revealed, and that is that the narrative itself was invented. That, my friends, is a coup, treason, or any other dastardly word you can think of on the part of the Obama administration, and these officials, including the former president, must be held accountable.
