The strike by President Donald Trump against Iran clearly hurt Iran’s nuclear facilities.
Iran is now bragging that it slapped America in its face, but the actions being taken by the regime tell a different story.
According to reports, Iran is now conducting mass arrests and even executions over what its leaders believe were possible leaks related to the strikes.
Iran had to try to save face after the attacks, but the comments by its Supreme Leader were almost comical.
On Thursday, reports surfaced that Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, claimed Iran had “delivered a hand slap to America’s face.”
The comments were nothing but hubris on the part of the Supreme Leader, not to mention delusional.
Iran took a horrible hit, and he knows it. But that is hardly the end of the story.
Earlier this week, there was a leaked assessment of the strike against Iran, downplaying the damage, but the administration ripped the media for using that assessment without waiting for all the reports to come in.
Now, however, we are starting to get the true reports, which are showing that significant damage was done to the facilities, setting back Iran’s nuclear program by “years.”
Even Iran has admitted there was significant damage.
Israel has sent an assessment team in, and that report is due out within a few days, so we will get a true picture of how much damage was truly done.
While Iran has been bragging about its success, internally, there is a far different story being told.
After the strike took place, reports surfaced that Iran had been conducting mass arrests and executions.
Foundation for Defense of Democracies (FDD) Senior Iran and Financial Economics Advisor Saeed Ghasseminejad stated, "The regime convicts and imposes the death penalty based on trumped-up charges to spread terror among the Iranians. Meanwhile, Israel’s Operation Rising Lion has helped the public realize that the Iranian regime is a paper tiger that is weaker than ever.”
I will go out on a limb and say that Iran will be more than happy to come to the table at this point, as Iran is lucky to still be on the map. Its leadership needs to negotiate a peace deal with Israel, as well as work out a nuclear deal with Trump. The alternative... well, I think we all know what that alternative is, and it is not promising for the terrorist nation.
