Polls swing in Trump’s favor on migrant deportations

Donald Trump never hid his immigration agenda while on the campaign trail, and he has been true to his word since taking office.

For a hot minute, the polls on this issue swung against Trump, as the Democrats' message that the administration had gone overboard regarding deportations seemed to be working.

Bad news is emerging for the Democrats, in that their message on deportation is no longer ringing true, as a recent New York Times poll has the numbers significantly back in Trump’s favor.

Mass deportations

Conservative estimates indicate that about 10 million illegals crossed the border during the Biden administration.

Some were given protected status, some were given asylum, while others were released pending their court date, and there were more still in the “gotaways” category.

Trump vowed to send them all back, telling a campaign rally crowd in 2024, “We’re going to have the largest deportation. We have no choice.”

I have always stood behind this policy because I know how this trickle-down effect works and how devastating illegal immigration is to our economy. And while I believe there is a negotiable solution, without a doubt, these people can never be offered citizenship, and the criminal element must be removed from this country, as must the freeloaders who are gaining the system.

Homan defends policy

Border Czar Tom Homan has been under fire from day one, and anytime Trump posts a meme on immigration, he seems to take the brunt of the hit.

After Trump posted his "Chipocalypse Now" post on social media, Homan was there to back him up, saying that Democrats and the media were taking the post out of context. Homan defended Trump, stating, "When I say we're going to war, we're going to war the criminal cartels. We're going to war with illegal aliens, public safety threats that rape children, that raped citizens, that committed armed robberies, that distribute narcotics that kill Americans.”

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) added, "This ICE operation will target the criminal illegal aliens who flocked to Chicago and Illinois because they knew Governor Pritzker and his sanctuary policies would protect them and allow them to roam free on American streets.”

This is exactly why I believe that the U.S. Supreme Court must take up the issue of sanctuary city status during Trump's current term in office. This issue needs to be settled before another Democrat gets into the White House.

Better polling

I am not sure into which part of the GOP message Americans are buying, but it is clear that the Republicans' message is hitting home, according to new polling.

A whopping 54% approve of Trump deporting “non-criminal” illegal immigrants, with 38% strongly approving. People are finally understanding that entering this country illegally is a crime, so they are all actually “criminal” migrants.

It would appear that the American people are finally starting to realize that, in part, healthcare costs are rising because those who can pay are having to spend more because of all the freeloaders allowed into the country. Wages go down, housing costs go up, etc.

It’s all about the bank account, and people are finally realizing that illegal immigrants running rampant in the country has a negative impact on their own finances. It took nearly five years for them to get it, but they are finally on board.
