New York Democrat heckled at his own town hall event

Certain Democrats are having a really tough time as of late, with members of the party pushing back against their positions on Israel.

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez was heckled at an event earlier in the year, and former Vice President Kamala Harris has had her recent book tour events interrupted numerous times.

Now, a freshman Democrat got a taste of what it’s like when you cave to the far left of your party, getting heckled at his own recent town hall event.

AOC

During an event in Queens, New York, back in May, AOC was heckled by a pro-Palestinian activist.

As the congresswoman was speaking, an attendee who was later identified as Jennifer King interrupted her presentation, shouting, "I am a health care worker, and I want to know what you're doing about the genocide in Gaza."

She went on to call AOC a “war criminal,” then added. In another video, the woman can be heard saying, "At least with the Republican Party we know what we are dealing with, you're a snake.”

The liberal lawmaker responded to the incident by saying, "I more than welcome people who disagree or are super pissed off at me for any issue to come, but we have some ground rules here. Please wait for the Q&A because we don't want to deprive all of our neighbors of the ability to have information and hear them respond to it."

Kamala Harris

Harris had much the same interaction while participating in a panel event on her book tour at the Warner Theater in D.C.

The woman at issue accused Harris of being “a war criminal” and stated that her “legacy was genocide,” and as usual, the former VP failed to handle the heckler with grace.

She responded, “You know what? I am not president of the United States.” She then added, "You want to go to the White House and talk to him, then go on and do that."

No, Kamala, you are not president, but Trump was clearly doing everything possible to have that war end as soon as he took office. Mind you, this is a conflict that began because you and your boss did nothing but undermine Israel, emboldening Hamas to invade.

Rep. Josh Riley (D-NY)

Next up is the freshman congressman from New York, Josh Riley, who found himself targeted for what I am sure felt like much longer than the five or six minutes the confrontation actually lasted.

A female heckler hit him hard, stating, “Seventy-five percent of Democratic voters are against you -- the United States -- giving arms to Israel. Why are you voting for arms to Israel?” Riley told the woman she needed to follow the stated protocols to have her question answered, at which point, someone in the audience accused him of “filibustering” the woman, and things just got worse from there.

NRCC spokeswoman Maureen O’Toole pounced, stating, “Radical Democrat Josh Riley has zero respect for anyone who disagrees with his dangerous, far-left agenda that prioritizes criminals and illegal immigrants above law enforcement heroes and hardworking New Yorkers. Upstate deserves better.”

This is a real problem for Democrats, and it may continue to be one now that the Trump-engineered peace deal has been signed. There was a lot of emotion on the left over Israel for the last two years, and now that the war is over, that passion may die down, keeping voters on the couch. Again, this is a cycle in which Republicans would historically get crushed, but this all gives us hope that maybe, just maybe, the GOP can defy history in a cycle that would typically see the House change hands.
