Democrats have been pounding the idea that since Donald Trump is mentioned in the Epstein files, he is a child trafficker.
Trump has always maintained that he broke off all contact with Epstein when he realized he was trying to recruit Mar-a-Lago staff.
The latest trove of documents released by the FBI could finally put the narrative Democrats are pushing to bed.
Trump has never denied that he knew Epstein, but he has denied that he had anything to do with the salacious activities that took place behind closed doors.
Trump had told the story before, but in July 2025, he once again explained why he and Epstein had broken off their relationship nearly two decades before.
Trump stated, "People were taken out of the spa — hired by him — in other words, gone. And other people would come and complain, 'This guy is taking people from the spa.'
"I didn't know that. And then when I heard about it, I told him, I said, 'Listen, we don't want you taking our people, whether it was spa or not spa, I don't want them taking people.' And he was fine. And then not too long after that, he did it again. And I said, 'Out of here.' "
Democrats have had these files for years, but they were never interested in having them released until Trump tried to stop the release of the files.
I stated very early on that I did not think Trump had anything to hide, but I definitely believe that Trump did not want the files released because he knew the mere mention of someone would ruin them.
To that exact point, Democrats are now seeing some of the unredacted files, and they are claiming that the DOJ was covering for prominent individuals. Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-MD) stated, “I was able to determine, at least I believe, that there were tons of completely unnecessary redactions in addition to the failure to redact the names of victims, and so that’s troubling to us.”
He continued, “There’s no way you run a billion-dollar international child sex trafficking ring with just two people committing crimes, Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell. No way. It doesn’t work like that. So we need to figure out what other conspiracies were involved, what other co-conspirators were involved? And I really do believe that listening to the survivors is going to be our pathway through this nightmare.”
All Democrats talk about is how many times Trump is mentioned, but they very rarely offer any context on this, and that is a big omission. For instance, in one document, it is Trump talking to the police about Epstein.
The report said that Trump was talking to then-Palm Beach Police Chief Michael Reiter, telling him, “Thank goodness you’re stopping him, everyone has known he’s been doing this.”
Trump also identified Ghislaine Maxwell, telling Reiter that “she is evil and to focus on her.”
This is a huge break for Trump, in that this should quell suspicions that he had anything at all to do with Epstein’s nefarious activities. “Should” is the operative word, however, as people like Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-TX) are still accusing Trump of being involved in the trafficking ring.
