Michigan Democrat caught on video stuffing drop box with ballots

During the 2020 election, there were several concerns raised by Republicans over the rather dramatic changes to our election processes.

For instance, mail-in ballot voting was expanded, as was the use of election drop boxes.

A Michigan Democrat did his party no favors by being caught stuffing a ballot box with absentee ballots only days before his primary race.

Perspective

This is a very hotly contested topic in this country, as conservatives and liberals see absentee ballots in two completely different ways.

In a 2024 poll, it was found that 62% of Republican voters only wanted to see absentee ballots used when necessary, for instance, when the individual was out of the country, or for someone who was disabled or elderly and unable to make it to the voting booth.

Democrat voters saw it much differently, with 82% supporting absentee ballots for any reason.

As I have stated numerous times on this subject, with early voting now often available weeks before Election Day, I see no reason for absentee voting other than the reasons listed above.

Taking action

This has been an issue for Donald Trump for many years, and he just introduced a new executive order that will address this type of voting as well as voting machines that Trump believes are suspect.

He posted to Truth Social, “I am going to lead a movement to get rid of MAIL-IN BALLOTS, and also, while we’re at it, Highly ‘Inaccurate,’ Very Expensive, and Seriously Controversial VOTING MACHINES.”

His post continued, “WE WILL BEGIN THIS EFFORT, WHICH WILL BE STRONGLY OPPOSED BY THE DEMOCRATS BECAUSE THEY CHEAT AT LEVELS NEVER SEEN BEFORE, by signing an EXECUTIVE ORDER to help bring HONESTY to the 2026 Midterm Elections.”

I suspect Democrats will fight him on this, but one Democrat has likely just given Trump’s attacks more juice.

Caught on video

Hamtramck City Council member Abu Musa did Democrats no favors after he was seen in the passenger seat of a car that dumped a stack of ballots into a ballot box only days before his primary election.

The Daily Mail reported that of the more than 1,100 votes cast for Musa, only 286 were cast on election day, with the rest of his votes coming from absentee ballots. Had he not had votes that were dropped at ballot boxes, he would have finished fifth in the race. Instead, he won the seat.

Keep in mind, several Hamtramck council members were recently arraigned on election fraud charges, so this brings even more attention to how local elections can be manipulated with even small amounts of election fraud.

While Michigan laws do not limit how many ballots can be dropped by an individual at a ballot box, it does restrict the types of votes. State laws require the individual who dropped the ballots to be a family member or co-inhabitant of the voter. Based on the footage I saw, Musa has a very large family, he is living with a lot of people, or he was stuffing the ballot box.
