Mamdani takes stunning lead in latest NYC mayoral poll

It appears that recent, seemingly discouraging poll numbers for NYC mayoral hopeful Zohran Mamdani were nothing but outliers.

Up until that particular survey emerged, Mamdani had been dominating all opponents.

I honestly thought that with recent revelations about his past, Mamdani's support would collapse even further, but the latest polling now has him in a commanding lead to become the next mayor of New York City.

The outlier

In mid-July, a HarrisX poll was released that appeared to show the collapse of the Mamdani campaign.

In a four-way race, Mamdani had a lead of 26-23 over former Gov. Andrew Cuomo, with Republican candidate Curtis Sliwa in third at 22% and current Mayor Eric Adams in fourth at 13%, with a full 15% of voters still undecided.

In a three-way race without Adams, it was Cuomo who took the lead at 31-29, with Sliwa rising to 28%.

In a three-way race without Cuomo, Mamdani took a commanding lead, 35-25, with Sliwa now in second, and Adams bringing up third with 19%.

Disband the police

Over the last few weeks, some rather disturbing videos and posts from Mamdani’s past have resurfaced, and I really thought they would crush his candidacy.

The most recent revelation involved his anti-police stance, one which was revealed again after the mass shooting at a New York office building.

The unit that responded to the shooting would have been disbanded had Mamdani been in office, having stated, "As Mayor, I will disband the SRG, which has cost taxpayers millions in lawsuit settlements + brutalized countless New Yorkers exercising their first amendment rights."

Mamdani has also advocated for the full defunding of the entire NYPD.

Shocking poll results

While I truly thought the subsequent poll administered would show Mamdani well behind Cuomo, the complete opposite has happened, as undecided voters seem to be more convinced than ever that Mamdani is the answer to their problems.

The Zenith Research/Public Progress Solutions poll that was just released has Mandani dominating every possible race scenario, including one in which the field is narrowed down to only one other candidate.

In a head-to-head race, Cuomo came the closest to beating Mamdani, but he still trailed 55-40%. If Adams were the sole opponent, he would be crushed even worse at 59-42%.

Both Cuomo and Adams have corruption issues, which is why voters have stated by margins of 60% and 68% respectively, that they would never vote for these candidates. Unfortunately, the GOP did not take this election seriously, and Sliwa is their only hope to win, but even in a four-way race, he trails. So, my friends, it would appear that New York City is about to be sacrificed to the socialist cause.
