This week, alleged victims of Jeffrey Epstein spoke before members of Congress.
Rep. Nancy Mace (R-SC), who claims to be a sexual abuse survivor herself, left the closed-door session in tears.
Mace then raged that she wanted to see Prince Andrew in cuffs.
One of the most prominent names associated with Epstein is that of Britain's Prince Andrew.
Andrew was accused of sexual assault by Virginia Giuffre. There was a notorious photo of the two together, purportedly taken years ago, with Ghislaine Maxwell appearing to loom in the background.
While the terms of a settlement reached between the royal and Giuffre were never revealed, we do know that no state money was used, as Andrew was forced to pay for the resolution out of his personal funds.
While Giuffre received her settlement, she was clearly mentally scarred by the entire ordeal.
With the Epstein suicide, Giuffre’s name was in the media more often than not for her reported ties to the pedophile and to Prince Andrew.
She had relocated to Australia, but it was not far enough to get away from the pain of what allegedly happened to her, and she eventually took her own life earlier this year.
Her family stated, "It is with utterly broken hearts that we announce that Virginia passed away last night at her farm in Western Australia. She lost her life to suicide, after being a lifelong victim of sexual abuse and sex trafficking."
The statement continued, "Virginia was a fierce warrior in the fight against sexual abuse and sex trafficking. She was the light that lifted so many survivors. In the end, the toll of abuse is so heavy that it became unbearable for Virginia to handle its weight."
Mace has always been a bit of a loose cannon, but her passion on this particular subject is undeniable, and that was quite apparent after she left the hearing, clearly emotionally impacted by what she heard from the witnesses.
Mace then posted to X, “Now seems like a good time to discuss prosecuting Prince Andrew for any and all potential crimes on US soil. A cold dark cell. Prince Andrew in handcuffs. Sends the right message.”
She continued, “Seems like the right next step (after we release the files). Perhaps we can focus on prosecuting predators next. Let victims, survivors and the country heal.”
I am all for that, and I would love to see the full files released, but I think protecting the victims is essential. We don’t need to know the details of the assaults, and we don’t need to know victims’ names, just those of the predators. I don’t care who they are; they need to be exposed. Leave the salacious details for authorities, but we cannot let these people get away with these crimes, period.
