Judge blocks Pam Bondi from releasing Epstein grand jury files

The lack of transparency regarding the Epstein files has become a complete nightmare for the Trump administration.

President Donald Trump has tried to quell the outrage from his supporters, but it has not worked.

As a result Trump ordered Attorney General Pam Bondi to request release of Epstein-related grand jury files, but that move was just blocked by a lower court judge.

Give it a break

Trump has tried to portray this controversy as a left-wing conspiracy in order to convince his followers to cease their outrage over the recent announcement that there was no Epstein client list for release.

He stated, “Let those weaklings continue forward and do the Democrats' work."

Trump continued, “Don’t even think about talking of our incredible and unprecedented success, because I don’t want their support anymore.”

In reality, Trump and his surrogates were constantly talking about releasing the files during the 2024 campaign, so this is in many ways a problem of their own making. This is what leads me to believe that there were either allies of Trump’s or so many other big names implicated in the materials that the presisdent made the call to bury the files rather than ruin all those careers.

Release the files

Trump did try to give his followers something to chew on, when he ordered Bondi to seek the release the grand jury files.

He stated, "Based on the ridiculous amount of publicity given to Jeffrey Epstein, I have asked Attorney General Pam Bondi to produce any and all pertinent Grand Jury testimony, subject to Court approval."

Trump went on, "This SCAM, perpetuated by the Democrats, should end, right now!"

Bondi immediately announced that she was moving forward to make the necessary motion in court to have the documents released.

Blocked again

The case, of course, fell in the lap of a Barack Obama appointee, Judge Robin Rosenberg, so we all know how things went.

In her order, she wrote, “Eleventh Circuit law does not permit this Court to grant the Government’s request; this Court’s hands are tied—a point that the Government concedes.”

Something tells me that Trump discussed this with White House counsel and was quite aware that he would likely lose this request to have the records unsealed. But the attempt gives him something to point to as an effort at transparency.

At this point, Trump just wants this all to go away, and I am sure he is hoping that once his administration announces that the move to release recordss was blocked by an “activist” judge, it will get MAGA refocused on something else. At the very least, it will allow Trump to push the narrative that the system was  rigged against him again, which should get his base moved away from this subject and on to the next.
