One of the biggest anti-Trumpers in the GOP is supporting Trump’s strike against Iran.
Jeb Bush, who helped take the Bush-Trump rivalry to unmatched levels during the 2016 election (and beyond), is giving Trump his props for the strike against Iran.
It is rather shocking, really when you consider the jabs these two families have exchanged, making them a modern-day version of the Hatfields & McCoys.
Before I get into Jeb’s comments, I wanted to give everyone a refresher of just how bad the blood is between these two families.
The Bush family bought into the bogus narrative about Charlottesville that Democrats and the media were pushing.
They chose to only publish a snippet of what Trump said, cutting him off before he had condemned the racists who attended the rally. The Bushes released a statement on his comments that was directly from the Democrat playbook, stating, “America must always reject racial bigotry, antisemitism and hatred in all its forms.”
This was considered a direct hit against Trump, but the fact of the matter is that Trump had rejected bigotry, and the full clip of his comments proved it.
Trump had no problem firing back at the Bush family when they started attacking him.
For instance, in September 2021, Trump was talking to reporters and the Bush family came up, in particular, the presidency of George W. Bush, which Trump claimed he saved.
At the time, he stated, “When he left office, he was at the bottom of the list of Presidents—I mean, the very, very bottom. Then I got into office and changed all that.”
Trump went on to say that despite that, Bush never gave him any credit, going so far as to call him “ungrateful.” There was something a little spicy behind that, but we can’t print that on these pages.
Jeb Bush is a co-founder of United Against a Nuclear Iran (UANI), so he and Trump finally have common ground on something… they both hate Iran.
Even so, I was surprised to see a Bush have something nice to say about a strike that Democrats are trying to portray as a breach of Trump’s oath of office.
After the strike, Jeb Bush and Dennis Ross, the other co-founder of the group stated, "We applaud President Trump for his courageous decision to launch this military operation. For 47 years, the Iranian regime has unleashed terror, violence and misery — against its own people and across the region — while threatening the United States, Israel and our allies."
That was not only a compliment to Trump, but if you read between the lines, it was a direct hit against Democrats as well. Obama and Biden did everything they could to be buddies with Iran, and it backfired. Trump is dealing with Iran in the only manner the country understands… violence.
