James Carville is proving that he is nothing more than a snake-oil salesman, making outlandish “predictions” solely to drive likes, shares, and clicks. He just did it again by predicting that Trump would resign after the midterms.
Carville was once one of the most brilliant minds on the left. I rarely agreed with the man, but you could count on him for valuable insight into the thinking of the left.
Going back to the 2016 election cycle, he has been wrong more often than right, and it is not even close, as he now goes for the outrageous rather than the realistic.
Carville started to fall off the cliff during the 2016 cycle, but the first Trump term is what truly made him a mental patient.
By the time Trump was running for re-election, the absurd predictions started, and Carville sounded more like a conspiracy theorist than a Democrat strategist.
In July 2020, Carville told “Morning Joe,” “I think there is a significant chance he doesn’t run. This thing is going so poorly. He’s so far back. It doesn’t make much sense for him to run.”
This echoed Carville during the 2016 cycle, when he told Bill Maher, “I think he’s going to quit. Really, right now, I’m saying right here.” He had also predicted a landslide Hillary win. As we now know, none of those predictions came true.
During the 2024 election cycle, Carville penned a guest essay in The New York Times, which claimed that he was “certain Kamala Harris will win.”
That essay was a little more than a week from the election, where I had made my prediction that I expected Trump to win and conservatively stated he would win at least four of the seven battleground states up for grabs. I only bring up my prediction because there was ample data available at the time, and none of it suggested that Harris was going to win this election unless something earth-shattering happened during that last week.
Yet, Carville wrote, “That is exactly why we should be exhilarated by what comes next: Mr. Trump is a loser; he is going to lose again. And it is highly likely that there will be no other who can carry the MAGA mantle in his wake — certainly not his running mate.” He was wrong… again.
After the election, Carville ripped into the Democrat Party and the Harris campaign, but I have to ask, if he is such a brilliant mind, why did he not point out all those problems before the election, as he did in his postmortem? Why, because he is a hack who is dedicated to pushing outlandish Democrat talking points rather than giving his followers an honest take.
Carville had made numerous predictions after Trump was elected, and to my knowledge, not a single one of them has come true, but he won’t give up.
Fox News just reported that Carville is now predicting that after the midterms, Trump will resign out of frustration.
He stated, "Everything that he tries blows up in his face. And he, I'm telling you, I think he's just going to quit next year by this time. I think he's just going to f---ing walk away because the Democrats control the House and the Senate."
Carville is an admitted sufferer of TDS, and when someone has Trump derangement syndrome, they cannot be taken seriously. Carville is now nothing more than a clown. The sad reality, however, is that eventually he will get something right, and he will try to pretend he is a genius and the only one who saw it coming.
