Even though Iran is being pummeled by the United States and Israel, it has decided to threaten to assassinate Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
Iran threw a temper tantrum after Netanyahu announced that this operation was crushing Iran’s regime and reshaping the Middle East.
Iran threw another fit after Trump managed to get our allies to commit to sending more ships to the Strait of Hormuz to fend off the Iranian strikes against tankers.
The complementary operation to Operation Epic Fury, being run by Israel, has been dubbed Operation Roaring Lion.
On the success of the operation, JNS reported that Netanyahu stated, “We are crushing the terrorist regime in Iran. We are striking and crushing its proxy Hezbollah in Lebanon.”
He continued, “Through an unprecedented partnership between Israel and the U.S., we have achieved enormous accomplishments that are changing the balance of power in the Middle East and beyond.’
This was surely meant to poke Iran, and Iran took the bait.
Iran has lost dozens of leaders, and reports regarding the health of its current leader are not good.
Even so, Iran continues to puff out its chest, immediately responding to the comments by Netanyahu.
The Associated Press (via the New York Post) reported that Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps responded, “If this child-killing criminal is alive, we will continue to pursue and kill him with full force.”
Netanyahu brushed off the threat, stating, “Threats come and go—but when we become a regional power, and in certain fields a global power, we have the strength to push dangers away from us and secure our future.”
Donald Trump is now asking the leaders of allied countries to flood the area with ships to help protect the Strait of Hormuz.
This is a critical waterway, especially for the global oil supply, and several countries have already reportedly offered to send help, even some that have been hesitant to act against Iran in the past. Iran, however, is now threatening to escalate the war, reported The Guardian, which presents an interesting challenge for President Trump.
Trump is on a clock, while Iran can wait him out if need be. This is why Trump must do whatever has to be done to get this operation concluded within that 60-day window. The moment the objective is achieved, declare victory, and shut this operation down.
Trump cannot get greedy here. Knock out Iran's ability to develop long-range missiles and nuclear capabilities. Seize all enriched uranium. Then get out. That should be the plan.
