Democrat socialist Zohran Mamdani’s campaign is getting blistered right now, and as I stated in our earlier newsletter, it is baffling to me that this information did not come out before.
So far, Mamdani has been limiting the damage with some shock concessions, such as agreeing to keep the current police commissioner.
But now he has to fend off the words of his mother, after a previous interview with her has resurfaced, one in which she said some rather controversial things about her son.
Mamdani has clearly been anti-police for his entire career, that is, up until it became a big deal during this election, and now he has suddenly had a change of heart.
In a very quiet move, Mamdani has made a deal with the current NYPD commissioner, Jessica Tisch.
Now, it is important to know that Tisch and Mamdani are like oil and water in terms of their political beliefs, but Mamdani is trying to calm the waters over all his anti-police comments in the past.
I still don’t buy into this, however, as I believe his true colors will show once he gets into office, and I highly doubt Tisch will last very long in his administration.
This is one of those contests where you have to choose from the lesser of two evils, and that is what Rep. Mike Lawler (R-NY) just did by endorsing Andrew Cuomo over GOP candidate Curtis Sliwa, who is way too far back in polling to have a chance.
He stated, “This is about the s–ttiest choice I’ve seen in a mayor’s race -- and that’s saying something,” but, “In this instance between Zohran Mamdani and Andrew Cuomo? It’s not even close.”
Lawler’s district sits on the fringe of the city, so his constituents will be impacted by any extreme policies put in play by Mamdani.
To that point, he stated, “At the end of the day, it’s not about party.” He continued, “New Yorkers have a choice -- either have a Marxist, socialist as mayor who doesn’t give a shit about the Jews, who thinks 9/11 is some prop to be used to make himself the victim, or an alternative.”
In 2013, Mamdani’s mother did an interview with the Hindustan Times, offering a rather unique insight into her son that I hope voters pay attention to.
She called him a “desi,” which is a term used to describe someone of Indian descent. In describing her son, she explained, “Completely. We are not firangs at all. He is very much us. He is not an Uhmericcan (American) at all.”
She added, “He was born in Uganda, raised between India and America. He is at home in many places. He thinks of himself as a Ugandan and as an Indian.”
For those in the LGBTQ+ community who are voting for Mamdani, you should know that Uganda has an “aggravated homosexuality” law on the books that calls for the death penalty, so there’s that. There have been calls for Mamdani to denounce his Ugandan citizenship, but that has not even been put on the table by him. One more tidbit… his recent wedding was held in Uganda. So make of that what you want.
